The 1 More Castle Launch Giveaway

Let’s keep this short and simple: One week ago, 1 More Castle launched. And it was great. And it continues to be great.

So to celebrate, we are giving stuff away! For free! As part of a contest!

At this point, you may be wondering: What are you giving away? How can I enter this wonderful contest?

To answer the first question, I have three images.

This is a Sonic The Hedgehog plush doll and an action figure of Princess What’s-Her-Name (from the Earthworm Jim series).

These are 16 8-bit Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) video game cartridges. Specifically: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Wizards & Warriors II: Ironsword, Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt, Ice Hockey, Double Dribble, Tiger-Heli, NES Play Action Football, Golf, Bases Loaded (in both label variants), Fester’s Quest, Track & Field II, Tetris, Dr. Mario, Silent Service, and Top Gun.

This may look like an Atari 2600 game cartridge, but it is actually soap. A distinctive, creative item.

One person will get all of these items, which brings us to the “how” of the matter.

The deadline is Friday, June 8th, 2012 at 11:59PM EST. Any comments left after this point shall not be considered as entries.
Sometime on the weekend, we will pick one comment purely by random selection.
We will get in touch with the winning commenter and arrange for shipping the prize items.

Incidentally, Earthworm Jim is actually one of my favorite games, I played it so much as a kid :D! The game kicked my rear *THOROUGHLY*, but it was a good time.

Pitfall! for the 2600 was great for so many reasons, *PLUS* it also was solely responsible for seeding my mind that scorpions are the size of large dogs. So by the time I went to Mexico and heard tales of scorpions clumsily dropping off the ceiling onto your bed, I could only say, "damn, I wish I rather had delusions of finding gold bars lying around in the jungle."

My absolute favorite games I have to disqualify myself since I was working in game design for 2 companies, I managed the home game division for Romstar then worked at SNK. (you can find my name inside Cowboy Kid, if you ever review that NES game :)

But for non work games, for home, Dragonstomper and Pitfall were my Atari 2600 dream games. For the NES, I had the soft spot for 8 eyes and Super Mario (who didn't?). for arcade, I had many, mainly pinballs but Tempest, Chiller, Don Doko Don, Cube Quest and Star Rider made my day, along with Robotron, Joust, Sinistar.

I'd like to lie and say I played River City Ransom as a kid, but like many people, I discovered it later. It sure is rad though. Blades of Steel is great. I liked Top Gun as a kid, and somehow knew it only as a game, not as a movie. Same with Predator, which is a very weird game. And for good measure, one of the first SNES games I remember seeing at a friend's house (besides Super Mario World) was Star Fox, which sort of blew my mind.

I would give my left eye tooth for a current generation release of the MicroMachines franchise. Those games, on each successive generation and platform, provided some of the greatest local multiplayer experiences I've had. today's TNT Racers comes close, but man do I miss my MM....

Where to start. Mario series I guess, not very original, but simply the best platform games around if you ask me. Then my personam favorite is Ultima 7, this game was so ahead of its time, even skyrim cannot hold the comparison.

I also love Ice hockey, so I hope I can win it , because its missing here !

I have a huge, ridiculous soft spot for Monster Party (NES). Is it as good as game as anything from the Legend of Zelda, Mario, or Mega Man series? No. Did it claw its way deep into my childhood psyche and set up eternal, wacky, dream-haunting residence? Yes!

Pong was my first game played and fell in love with gaming. From there, I suppose Jungle Hunt was my favorite Atari game. I've beaten all the Mario, Zelda, Metroid, and Final Fantasy games (got hooked in NES). Also loved Contra and Marble Madness of all games. Earthworm Jim and the original Toejam and Earl (not Funkatron) were my all time fun-favorites. And Galaga/Gradius III were both games my father and I competed for the best scores.

Some of my favorite retro games are the Super Mario and Mega Man games on the NES. When I was a kid, playing Super Mario Bros. 3 for the first time was epic (though I probably didn't really know what epic meant back then, but that's how it felt), and playing Mega Man 2 for the first time is what got me into my love for the franchise to begin with, though when I first played it, it was by complete accident (went to rent Adventures of Lolo, but it was already rented, so my Dad say I could rent any game I wanted, and I rented Mega Man 2).

@JamesHudson1 I think we were separated at birth. Bubble Bobble was legendary, Boy and his Blob just fun and the rest you listed I owned. I literally think I had nearly the entire NES collection at one point. All the good games, anyway. Bad Dudes was cool too, and Badstreet (Backstreet?) Brawler
