Second: Bailey, I feel your pain on growing up playing video games on a B&W TV. When I first got Bart vs. The Space Mutants, I was stuck playing my NES only on a B&W TV in my bedroom. Of course, the point of the whole first level is to find all the purple objects. THAT was fun.

It almost sounded like Bailey was daring Hunter to use Sonic in next week's Showdown :O

As for the listener question, I was thinking of Semia on Rastan for the SMS. But the alteration of the story wouldn't actually alter, but append to it. After Rastan leaves, I'd hook up with the princess.

Dr. Mario isn't a man, isn't a game, and isn't a Tetris clone. Dr. Mario is a monster.

One of the things that Bailey alluded to about not being able to play Dr. Mario on a black and white TV, 10 million (roughly 7%) of the world's male population affected by one form of color blindness.

That's too far large a number of people that are not going to play your game due to the inability to see a very basic element needed to play.

Sure you can guess, but what's the fun of that?

I'm with @Bigjoe91 I'm voting for Hunter.

So is Dr. Mario a doctor or a pharmacist? I don't know how you work in the US, but here the doctor prescribes and the pharmacist makes verifications to make sure you don't die. In fact, he might just have a doctorate in communication or literature. Who knows if he just stuck longer in schools so he'd play a few more years with the Hopping Frog Suits?

Not sure i'd like to live in Earthbound land - a simple trip down to to the corner shop would involve about 15 battles with spiteful crows, skateboard kids and yes man jrs. Couldn't be doing with that.

My vote this week goes to Body Harvest...which was amazing for the time. Aside for the ground-breaking gameplay mechanics, the atmosphere and music were top notch. Even if, to my eternal shame, I never made it past the Java level. As far DMA go, Space Station Silicon Valley was pretty amazing as well - such a shae they've just become the GTA guys.

Oh. Oh. I was so going to vote for Dr. Mario, but then the presenter implied that Tetris is not fun. Hmmmmm. & Jason doesn't like Dr. Mario, so I can't vote for him. BUT I WOULD NEVER VOTE FOR A SKATEBOARD GAME ANYWAY.

WAIT BAILEY JUST CALLED DR. MARIO STUPID TOO. *implodes*

@jasonlamb Plus, if Mario really is a "doctor", I wouldn't trust someone in his profession that prescribes different colored pills for every medical issue. That's a malpractice suit waiting to happen.

@the_valerie @Bigjoe91 So we agree Mario is a fraud then. I also want to point out that Jason bringing the first Tony Hawk is a bad move. It's like I was expecting Bonestorm and I received Lee Carvello's putting challenge... It's just not the same. *sigh* I'm voting for Hunter.

@Bigjoe91 @the_valerie Props for the Simpsons reference, but I offer a correction: It is merely Dr. Mario that is the fraud, not Mario. And, yes, they are separate beings... as confirmed in Super Smash Bros Melee, which is totally canon.
