The Return of Road Rash?

Road Rash, the series featuring motorcycle-based destruction, has long been dead. Though the games have been featured on everything from the PC, to the Sega Master System, there hasn’t been a release since the 2003 version for the Game Boy Advance. But, that may not last for long.

If you remember from a previous article I wrote, the series has been subject to rumors of a rebirth for years now. There was even a pre-vis video of an HD remake leaked several years ago, but nothing has ever come of these rumors and asset leaks.

However, thanks to the active Reddit gaming community, there may be a new version coming. Dan Geisler, who programmed and co-designed the first three installments of the series, took to Reddit to voice a response to why the series hasn’t resurfaced after all these years. His response was:

“It hasn’t resurfaced because I was burned out after Road Rash 3. But I’m ready to do another one now. I just needed 20 years off. I’m ready to make a better one now. I miss playing it too. If there is enough interest, Ill do a kickstart on it. btw thanks for the post.”

As per the legal aspects, I’m not sure if this will come to reality. I do believe the series is owned by Electronic Arts, but you never know what may happen. What do you think? Are you still interested in the Road Rash series after all these years? Would you Kickstart a new game? Sound off in the comment to let us know what you think.
