Finally finished another Retrogears video and guess what! It’s about another Pac-Man clone. I know, I know, I should really make some videos about something that isn’t Pac-Man… and I will… I promise! I just had to do one more, because this is another game I owned as a kid and I just felt a need to revisit this game to find out why I played it so much back in the days.
Here’s a video about something I didn’t initially intend to cover in this series; a purely mechanical game!
When I was a kid anything that was handheld gaming fascinated me and quite often I would be disappointed at the somewhat lacking game play and visuals of these handhelds. My very young and thick brain was expecting arcade quality gaming and didn’t quite understand why the ones I had didn’t look and play like Zaxxon in the arcades. But there’s one game I remember having a lot of fun with and being one of my favourite handhelds; Epoch-man, a Pac-man clone from Epoch. Check out the video to find out if it’s still any fun today!
Recently when foraging through a local flea market, a box with a familiar logo caught my eye. To my amazement it was a Pac-man Coleco Tableop, boxed and all! Something I have never seen back here in cold old Sweden! Naturally I felt I had to make a video about it, for no other reason than to annoy my Pac-man collecting friend who was at the same flea market and just missed the tabletop by a few seconds. And the price I paid for it will perhaps upset you, so brace yourself before you watch the video and find out.
