Panic Restaurant
This week I looked at one of the more rare NES titles, Panic Restaurant, a game which pits you against aggressive mutant food.
Slip on your apron, get your frying pan ready, and let’s get cookin’!

This month’s episode includes one of the strangest iPhone accessories ever, Snatcher on the Virtual Boy, and the UK General Election (kind of).
How have I not reviewed Rampart before?
Here’s a classic game in which the chief goal is to gather “one more castle” and then another, and another until you annihilate your opponent with the help of countless well-placed cannons.

Hey guys!
So first off if my voice sounds a little odd I have been fighting allergies and sinus issues this week so I am sorry about that!
Can you feel it? We are getting ever so close to the end of the quest to unite the first eight Nintendo 64 reviews with the rest of the project. After this review, just one more until the entire band is back together and I can continue on my merry way until all 296 games have fallen to my keyboard. Consider the remastering of these eight reviews like grinding in an RPG before you move forward but in a fun, hopefully enjoyable way. The seventh review was for a perennial favorite of mine. It’s a game I pick up for every console I own. I even have it on my Xbox One. On August 25, 2013, I originally reviewed Monopoly. Read More
Note: After this, I have only one entry left in the Chasing Ghosts series, as the premise (arcade games with specific childhood memories) will have run dry. Hit me up on Twitter if you have suggestions for what I should write about next.
He’s cute, he’s pink, and he may just devour the entire world!
This week I played the fun and unique, if somewhat overlooked, Kirby’s Adventure.
Everyone should eat their vegetables.
But after playing Princess Tomato In The Salad Kingdom, you could be forgiven for never wanting to look at one ever again.
This game is ALL vegetables from start to finish.

While for some of you it seems that winter just won’t quit, Spring is in full bloom in central Florida. I can finally get back outside with the family and enjoy some fresh air and sunshine. This time of year is full of sporadic weather and plans for a fun beach day or trip to the park can be easily ruined by a sudden thunderstorm. Just because you are stuck inside doesn’t mean that you need to sit around like a bump on a log. There are many great retro gaming peripherals available that will get you on your feet and help keep you and your family active while waiting for the storm to pass. Read More
Hey there, 1 More Castle faithfuls. I had an interesting experience last week that spurred some pretty deep introspection. I was listening to the 1 More Podcastle live stream when my partner came in the room wondering what I was so intently looking at.

Bruce Lee is known as one of the most influential martial artists who ever lived. He was a Hong Kong film actor and the founder of Jeet Kune Do. He was a legendary actor and martial artist who unfortunately passed away too soon.
His legacy lives on in several video game characters that resemble, act like, or fight like Bruce Lee. I decided to count down these characters inspired by Lee. Keep in mind that these are retro game characters inspired by Bruce Lee and not just video game versions of Bruce Lee.
Turns out obscure direct-to-vhs Christmas specials don’t generally have HD screengrabs. This episode features the excellent Chris Schwartz of 1MoreCastle and Twitter fame!

Humongous Entertainment is arguably one of the strongest developers when it comes to edutainment, having many popular gaming franchises that typically involve the adventure genre, all while also teaching themes with stories that can even appeal to some older audiences too. Pajama Sam’s first gaming entry presented a dream-like story that culminated in conquering one’s fears about darkness, Spy Fox had tension with trying to solve detective-like mysteries, Freddi Fish was a mystery series that explored aquatic settings, and Fatty Bear… well, actually, that series never really took off. One series that I used to play a lot was Putt-Putt, which involved the zany adventures of an anthropomorphic car and his overly energetic puppy: these journeys included setting up a parade, getting launched to the moon, saving animals at a zoo, and even joining a race! But I wanted to play something that was new to me, so for today’s review, I’m analyzing Putt-Putt and Fatty Bear’s Activity Pack.

Overall, issue 8 feels like it spends a lot of time looking forward and not as much on what’s current. But given that this issue would have been produced during the summer of 1989, there wouldn’t have been too many games coming out around that time. Still, in this issue we get a great look at the NES classic Ducktales and more information on the RPG that Nintendo hoped would storm America, Dragon Warrior. We also get a feature on the NES Satellite which allowed 4 player gameplay on games that supported it. The games listed that support it are mostly sports game but I was a bit surprised to see that Nightmare on Elm Street supports 4 players. Read More
Sometimes the timing of things is funny. As you know by now (hopefully) we just had an amazing Review a Great Game Day. As you may also know, or else are about to hear about, we have a second game review holiday here at 1 More Castle called Review a Bad Game Day. You’ll hear more about that one in the coming weeks. I mention it, though, because the next game in my project to unite my original eight Nintendo 64 reviews with the rest of the project is a review that happened to fall on Review a Bad Game Day. As a fun side note, this was also the day I started a really bad job. From August 8, 2013, my review of Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue. Read More
Nintendo vs. Sega, time travel vs. hyperstones, Turtle vs. Turtle. This week I played TMNT IV: Turtles in Time and TMNT: The Hyperstone Heist so I could review and compare them to find out which Turtles game reigns supreme.
